Meet Our Student Fellows

Hey everyone! My name is Chiamaka and I am a Diversity and Access fellow! I joined this team because I enjoy working with prospective students, and I want to help create an environment where prospective students are aware of Tufts University and the resources that they have to support BIPOC students. I was born and raised in Nigeria. My family moved to the United States when I was 11 years old and we now reside in Ohio. Perfect that I ended up going to college in Massachusetts because I built some immunity to the cold. I love to cook, bake, sing, and watch Netflix - New Girl is my all-time guilty pleasure. When I am not studying or working you will probably find me exploring the city of Boston, grabbing boba from Kung Fu Tea, hitting up thrift stores, or sitting on my porch laughing at some TikTok videos!

Hello!! I’m the SMFA Admissions Fellow for the 2022-2023 school year. I am a fourth year in the combined degree program with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. My art practice is focused on photography, ceramics, and paper making, and I enjoy exploring the interdisciplinary aspects of my studies. In addition to my academic and artwork, I am the head of Boxers on the Hill, the boxing club at Tufts, and I am a Layout Executive for the Tufts Daily. In my free time, I like to go on long walks around Boston, watch TV with my friends, and look after my 40+ plants!

Greetings! I am a senior international student and a Communications Fellow at Tufts Admissions. I am from Nanjing, China and have stayed in the United States for over seven years. Currently a Research Fellow and a Social Media Specialist at the Vanguard Think Tank, I have worked as a Macroeconomic Research Intern at Haitong Securities, analyzing the global market performance and China's macroeconomic policy, as a Social Media Executive at International Politics Scholars, and as a Marketing Associate at the 12th-13th Harvard China Education Symposium. As a cross-cultural, interdisciplinary young scholar, I love reading, film, language learning, classical and military music, singing, badminton, and cycling. In addition to my native Mandarin, I speak fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Cantonese and read basic Russian and Korean. Very glad to meet you all!

Hello! My name is Nuria and I am an Admissions Fellow entering my third year at Tufts. At school I am involved in SMFA Student Government, Tau Fi Lambda Comedy, and 91.5 WMFO. As a fellow, I am looking forward to organizing and hosting events for potential students, as well as working with those going through the admissions process. Outside of Tufts, you can find me wandering around museums like the MFA or Gardner, as well exploring the rest of New England.

Hi everyone! My name is Brent Cheung, and I am thrilled to be an Admissions Fellow this year. I am a senior studying International Relations and History from Shanghai. On campus you can find me as a coach and player for our competitive League of Legends team and as a member of our international relations research journal Hemispheres. Previously, I worked for a college counseling firm in China and witnessed the stress and pressures of applying to university, especially as a member of the Asian community. As an international fellow, I cannot wait to hear the many diverse and unique stories of our international applicants but also hope to better inform the international community about the college admissions process to ease the burden of applying from overseas. Outside of class you will probably find me in the new Gaming Hub room grinding some Solo Queue.

Hello everyone! My name is Katelin and I’m from Rye, NY. I’m entering my senior year (unfortunately) here at Tufts! I’m so excited to join the Admissions Team because I truly believe Tufts offers an unparalleled college experience, and I want do all I can to take part in sharing my love for Tufts to prospective students. As for what takes up my time on campus, I’m on the Varsity Swim Team and am double majoring in Film and Media Studies and Psychology!

Hi! I’m a senior at Tufts studying Mechanical Engineering & Engineering Education. I’ve worked in various roles within engineering, including technical research positions on campus, education research, K12 outreach, and an R&D internship at a medical device company! I am so excited to be working as the Engineering Admissions Fellow this year to help others explore all the different opportunities there are for engineers at Tufts! On campus, I am the captain of the Club Women’s Water Polo team and am involved with Society of Women Engineers (SWE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Tufts Mountain Club (TMC), and Tufts Dance Collective (TDC). I also enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and competing in triathlons!
