Academic Life
Favorite class to teach
ENP161 - Human Factors for Product Design. It is a fun class where students get to work with real clients and go through all the important stages of designing something. And they learn different techniques and methods along the way. I always learn new stuff too! It is a fun, headlong, exciting journey of discovery.
Qualities you admire in Tufts’ students
Tufts students are smart, creative, and passionate. That is great. But, they also have good-hearts: they like to get involved in social causes and are willing to try things out that are a bit outside their comfort zone.
Campus Life
Best place to get food
I love Soundbites... especially their cornmeal pancakes!
What you do for fun on campus
I love to see music performances. All kinds. But, for example, the Tufts Symphony is amazing -- they are basically like a professional orchestra (with a fabulous conductor), and their concerts are usually free! And, typically (sadly!) not many people show up. SO, I get to go to an awesome concert, for free, and have the best seat in the house!
Fun Facts
Something you wish students knew about Tufts Engineering
Although many courses are tough, lots of them also allow students to pursue their passions and interests. Also, there are tons of interesting clubs!
Tufts is wonderful. A great experience while you are a student, and a wonderful alumni network for life.
Advice for prospective students
Get involved! Join clubs, volunteer in a research lab, explore your passions, and have fun! (wherever you end up going!)
