I’m Maddie Cortesi, a senior double majoring in Sociology and STS (Science, Technology, & Society), with a minor in Medieval Studies. I work on the Student Communications Group (SCG) with the Tufts Undergraduate Admissions Office, and recently became a tour guide. My favorite part of working on communications projects is learning new technical skills, getting to highlight student experiences, and showcase my dedicated extracurricular communities. Outside admissions, I’ve cheered for 4 years on our Club Cheerleading team (we’re training for nationals competition #3!), and I’m the Co-President/Design Head for The Lantern, an STS-focused think tank & magazine publication club. I’m also a flute/piccolo/recorder player continuing my practice in the Tufts Early Music Ensemble and as a librarian and musician in our Wind Ensemble. And, I had the honor of doing creative research on cyborgs and Queer Feminist Science, Technology, & Society studies through the 2024 Tufts Summer Scholars program.
