Why Tufts? Part 3

David Levitsky Jumbo Talk

Congratulations, admitted students! All your hard work paid off! Now to decide where to go to school. I've written two other posts about why students should come to Tufts during my time here, and this post will reiterate why I love this school. I'll have a short list below of why coming to Tufts will be one of the best decisions you will ever make in your life.

1. The people are amazing. There are so many different communities within Tufts to join, and once you find one, you'll be able to grow and thrive as a person as well as a student. My sophomore year has had a lot of unexpected bumps in the road, but my friends have been there for me to help me overcome the challenges I face and will continue to face. Everyone is collaborative and supportive, so know that someone will have your back if you come here.

2. The teachers actually care about what they do. Many teachers here conduct their own research and write for academic publications, but I still feel comfortable stopping by their office hours to chat. I feel like an equal whenever I talk to my professors. These people genuinely care about the academic and personal growth of their students, and will go out of their way to help students develop their academic passions and discover what careers they might want to go pursue after Tufts.

3. The number of degree programs. Tufts has plenty of combined degree programs that will allow you to pursue graduate study without the hassle of the usual grad school application process. You can seamlessly transition from your undergraduate studies to graduate degrees in Fine Art, Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy, and Computer Science among other subjects. Tufts gives you the flexibility to explore higher education without the burden of spending all your time in school instead of out in the world.

If you want a supportive community, passionate teachers who care about you, and flexibility to pursue options in higher education, then Tufts is the place for you! Congratulations again, and hope to see you all on campus next year.
