Jumbo Talk

Well, it's definitely good to be back. That last week was a little bit of a marathon with three exams and my blue belt test (I passed!), but I made it through and I'm ready to get back to a normal sleep cycle.

All things being equal, it is nice to be able to see my family again. I'm planning on getting an internship in New York City (keep your fingers crossed!) and I'll totally blog about it when I get that opportunity. Bottom line is that I'm home now and I don't have much to do. I was one of the last people to leave, and I got back home on Saturday night, so it's been less than a week. Even still, there are some behaviors that stowed away and made it back here with me.

They were all things that I had to adjust to once I got into the dorms, and going the other way is pretty weird.

  1. I spent a good five minutes looking for my shower shoes yesterday.
  2. This morning when I went for my run, I flipped out when I was halfway done because I didn't have my ID with me and I thought I would be locked out.
  3. I leave the house without my keys because I am still under the impression that IDs open doors.
  4. Elevators are a thing around here. I've forgotten that I need to press the button to make it come to the right floor.
  5. I have actually texted friends before dinner. I haven't yet slipped so far as to ask them when they're going to Carm, but it feels weird not to have to organize dinner. Eating without asking friends if they're hungry? Impossible!
  6. You mean I can make scrambled eggs? By myself?
  7. I keep forgetting that my mom has thumbs and can pick up and move my stuff, so I get a little weirded out when I put something in the kitchen and the next morning it's on the floor of my room.

I can't believe that I'm halfway done with college. It seems weird to say I'm a junior, but I am and that's that. I just hope something turns up for me this summer, because I really want to have something to do. Worst case scenario, I go back to Tufts and take a summer class or two. Not a bad fallback, right?
