I am officially a spring semester senior. I remember hearing this phrase when I was a freshman from my senior friends, but I didn’t really get it. I remember seeing my senior friends hang out with all their senior friends—at all times. Even late at night just to write their theses! So here I am, hanging out with all my senior friends at all times, even though the majority of my friend group at least is not writing theses. But I get it! After spending so much time being a 15-minute walk (at most!) from my friends, I’m getting premature friendsickness as we all realize the majority of us will not be in such close proximity for the foreseeable future. While some of my friends have started to accept job offers (woo!) and some of us are still in the process of applying (that’s okay too!), we will not all be in the same city, coast, or even country. Which means I want to hang out with them as much as I can while I still can! So while I’m still here, I thought of what I have left to do here before graduating in May. Here’s my bucket list for the last few months:
On campus
-Learn a lot
-Study in the Music Library
-Host a Karaoke Night
-Perform at one last event
-Attend Spring Fling and have fun with my friends! (I usually work this event)
-Buy all the Frozen Hoagies my heart desires using JumboCash
-Go on the spinning ride at Tuftstonia’s Day (I always chicken out)
-Make long & lasting connections*!
Off campus
-Attend more events at other Boston schools!
-Eat and get drinks at Felipe’s Taqueria
-Perform at an event off campus (possible, but yikes! Definitely out of my comfort zone)
-Leave knowing I’ve been to everywhere I wanted to go, and seen everything I wanted to see
*I want to clarify because even though I’ll be leaving here and I won’t be in close proximity to everyone I love (not just talking about senior friends) anymore, I’m confident in the bonds I’ve established that distance will only further develop our friendships in new ways we don’t expect. Plus, who doesn’t love a nice weekend trip to visit friends in places you haven’t been before or that you’ve only seen briefly!
All this is to say that while yes I have little time left here, I am also ready for what’s ahead, not only for me, but my friends as well.
