Hi everyone! My name is Lyla Sowder-Yuson, and I am from both Long Island, New York and Tokyo, Japan. I am a member of the Class of 2027 in the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) Combined-Degree program, studying Political Science and Fine Arts. For this academic year, I am working at the Tufts University Admissions Office as an Intern. At Tufts, I am the marketing chair of Tufts Full Sound (Tufts’ only acapella group specializing in music by Asian artists), a member of the Philippine Student Union, and active in both Pen, Paint, and Pretzels (3Ps) and Torn Ticket II. In my free time, I enjoy painting, filming and editing content, hanging out with my cat Phoebe, cooking new recipes, and chilling with my roommates in our living room. My current obsessions are Animal Crossing, the song “Lot to Learn” by Winyah, pigeons, and Trader Joe's vanilla flavored cold foam creamer.
