I know, it’s been a while, and I’m sorry about that I really am. You’re probably wondering “what gives Yulia? It’s been almost four months!” and you’re right, the summer just got away from me. But fear not my blog followers! This time has been used well.
Just as summer for you is meant to be a time to collect yourself and prepare for the coming year, it is also for us a time to recharge and regroup as we get ready for the Class of 2019. I went around the office today and asked what the coolest thing our Officers did over the summer was, and I have to say, I’m pretty jealous, there’s some amazing stuff in here!
Greg – I went on a 12 day trip around Europe where I got to see the fjords in Norway, really amazing. Or maybe the bike tour into the countryside of Amsterdam, you can’t really ask for anything better than that.
Matt – I took a stand-up comedy class that was super fun. It was time during the week where I could just be silly, which is important.
Alyshia – Hiking in Mesa Verde. It was something I studied in my first environmental science course in undergrad which led me to my major of environmental policy, so it was special.
Megan – I ate an entire pizza with one of my closest friends at dusk while listening to a free concert at the Hatchshell. So Boston.
Walker – Going on vacation in the mountains and the beach in Washington State with my family. It was different from what we usually do, especially being on the other coast!
Mere – My first nephew came into the world, Teddy!
Susan – Spending five non-stop days with my family on a Disney cruise while getting to explore the Caribbean.
Jaime – Graduating, and then getting the call from Dean Coffin mid-sprint on a treadmill that I was coming back to the hill as an Admissions Officer. I broke down and made a scene which wasn’t the most graceful but I was so excited!
Denny – I got to hang out with my extended (and expansive) family in Ecuador for a month, many of whom I hadn’t seen in 5 years.
Me – My friends and I had a mini Tufts reunion at the beach. We all live in different places now and while keeping in touch online is great, nothing is better than actually getting to spend a weekend doing nothing but spending time together, just like old times!
How about you? What did you do over the summer? As we get ready to travel the world, do you have any places you went to that we absolutely have to see? Let me know in the comments!
