Looking back on a fun two days with 263 students is always an experience. New friends are made, potential roommates are found (ask the Voices Intern Sylvia about this), and bonds are created with the school. The group tweet was hilarious #voices #tufts #college #admissions #hashtag... why send a mass tweet... well, just because! I even stumbled upon a Voices of Tufts 2013 Facebook group less than 24 hours later.
Voices of Tufts always seems to amaze. I watched the question and answer session in which Lee (Dean Coffin to people outside of our office) spoke about an essay that was his favorite last year- we've actually passed the essay around within our office. The essay was about how a student loved the smell of old books and how this smell makes books infinitely better than kindles… or as she says "that book smell...mmm!" Low and behold, Mina Brewer was actually one of our Voices Ambassadors this year and a Voices attendee last year! When she heard students talking about that essay, she began to blush. The moment was both cute and inspiring when she found out the Dean loved her supplemental question.
We're glad to give students a glimpse of the school and a chance to figure out "why Tufts." Voices 2013 attendees, it was excellent meeting you all. I hope to see you on paper this winter and in person again next fall!!! If you want to share your photos, email me your pictures and I'll post them for everyone to see.
