Oh No! This is Hard!
One of the hardest aspects of my transition to Tufts was the academic transition. Going from a hybrid senior year to a mostly virtual first-year…
Hi Friends!
So you ranked Tufts and weren’t matched. As someone who was in your position two years ago, I know exactly how you feel and it sucks. Like I didn’t get out of bed the next day because I was hoping to get matched to at least one of the schools I ranked. But that’s okay! The college process is so competitive and it’s okay to not get the results you want! That doesn’t make you any less of a qualified candidate at ANY of the schools you ranked. You’ve already come this far and you still have a TON of opportunities left to get into a top college.
So, what happened to me? Well, I took some time to reflect upon what I wanted in a school and realized that out of all the schools I ranked, Tufts was the place for me. So I threw my hat into the ring again and transferred my application to the early decision round. After reviewing my previous essays, I wrote my Tufts supplementals to make sure that they were the BEST essays that I have ever written and sent them in. And after a few weeks of waiting, I got in!!!!
So, why am I writing to you today? Well, it’s not to flex my acceptance in your face, but to encourage you to keep going. Find a school that speaks to you, whether or not it’s Tufts, and keep pushing with the same drive that brought you this far. Things were looking pretty bleak for me and I never had such low confidence ever in my life, but I want you to know that it gets better and that you ARE deserving. You might be concerned that because you didn’t get to match, you won’t get a great package to a top school. Well, let me remind you that Tufts is an unique institution that meets 100% of demonstrated need and is committed to making education accessible to everyone; this was very important to me, so this was one of the many reasons why I chose to ED to Tufts.
If you have any questions, would like some support, or would like to hear the rest of the reasons why I applied ED to Tufts and continue to love it to this day, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Good luck and don’t forget to believe in yourself.
Your QB friend at Tufts,
Baljaa Borgil
