Snapshots of My Favorite Places

It’s that time of year when the leaves are starting to turn beautiful shades of red, yellow, and orange. FALL! During the past couple of weeks, the weather has been absolutely beautiful and campus is abuzz with students sitting outside all over campus. In between classes or after school, I have a few favorite spots where my friends and I can enjoy the weather and each other’s company while doing homework or eating a meal together.

My absolute favorite spot to hang out in between classes to get some work done or meet up with friends is at the Science Engineering Complex, the SEC. With a gorgeous lawn out front, patio tables, and chairs inside there are countless places to choose from to spend your time. Since the sun has been shining recently, my friends and I have gravitated towards the lawn. Nothing is better than eating with friends and doing some homework under a stunning tree that is changing color. I often also grab a smoothie inside from Kindlevan Café ( the TropiKale is in fact the best) to enjoy while I get a little Vitamin D while enjoying the outdoors.

Another one of my favorite spots is Tisch roof. Tisch roof is the roof of our campus library with a stunning view of the Boston skyline. You can always find students sitting on Adirondack chairs or on the steps. With the peaceful view of Boston in the distance it’s a great place to hang out with friends or study together! I often Facetime my family and friends here because they enjoy the skyline view as much as I do!

The perfect lawn picnic area is definitely President’s Lawn, or better known among students as Pres Lawn. A set of stairs splits this beautiful patch of green grass in half where you can find students scattered on picnic blankets and chairs doing work or eating lunch. The lawn is filled with trees so whether you want a patch of sun or shade, there’s a spot for everyone! If you bring along a speaker you can play your favorite songs with friends and catch a break after school or between class!

My final favorite place on campus is actually right in front of my dorm. It is right across the street from Prez Lawn so I still get the beautiful view of all the foliage and sun peeking through the leaves. This is an easy place to hang out since it is right downstairs from where I live, but sitting on the stairs with friends is a perfect pass time when we are all craving a little outdoor time (or too lazy to climb up flights of stairs)!

All in all, these are just the places where I personally find myself spending most of my time, but that being said my overall message is that this beautiful campus has a plethora of locations for you to make your own. Ask any student their favorite places and I promise they will all differ- except maybe for Prez Lawn, it seems to be a fan favorite!). Wherever you find yourself smiling and enjoying the company of friends is a good place to be! It took time, but these are those places for me!
