Eating my way through Europe (one pastry at a time)

Sep 29
Jumbo Talk

After the rush of my summer internship but before the start of this school year, I had the unique opportunity to spend 10 days traveling to a bunch of areas between Copenhagen, Denmark and Brussels, Belgium.  The views were exquisite; ancient paintings lined the walls of museums; biking around the cities was wonderful.  But, more amazing than all of those was the food.  My stomach directed me throughout this trip, and therefore, I will allow you to vicariously experience my trip by transmitting photographs straight from the computer screen to your stomach.

1. 2 Hour Layover in Reykjavik, Iceland

Was so hungry.  Credit card machines in airport were down.  Had no Icelandic currency.  Still was very hungry.  Sad.

2. Copenhagen, Denmark

One of the first things that I did upon landing in Denmark was my first of many coffees to be had during this trip.

Meat and SO MANY TYPES OF POTATOES

To make the meal shown above even better, it was eaten in the Brewery below:

3. The Netherlands

More meat... as you can tell, I am NOT a vegetarian.

Meat yet again! As you can tell, I am NOT a vegetarian.  One night, I even got to pick my cut of meat before it was cooked!

I dropped my raspberry tart on the ground (please see the gravel on the frosting) and still ate it... it was that good.

Amsterdam had delicious apple cake!

Pasta with -you guessed it- meat sauce!

4. Belgium

Waffles, chocolates, and pastries - oh my!

Hope your belly is as happy as mine was!
