How to Learn About a College If You Can't Visit

Jul 24
Michelle Sun Inside Admissions

You might live across the country, or in another country on the other side of the world with limited time or resources to make the trip to greater Boston, begging the question, how can I best learn about Tufts?

Fortunately, Tufts offers numerous virtual ways to engage with us! We love welcoming prospective students to campus, but we know it is an investment and not always easy to plan for. Instead, check out all of our virtual visit opportunities here! If you can’t visit the campus in-person, you can sign up for our guided virtual tours instead and see a slideshow of our campus, with current Tufts students describing each building and what goes on during a day at Tufts. It won’t be the same as experiencing the campus in real time, but it can give you insight to what our campus looks like and all the opportunities we offer!

To learn about our academic programs and admission process, consider registering for one of our virtual information sessions. We offer several information session options suited for your interests: a general information session about Tufts, one for prospective engineering students, and one for prospective School of Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) students. If you are considering transferring to Tufts, we host transfer-specific virtual information sessions each winter as well.

During the fall season, our admissions team works hard to organize an extended series of virtual sessions for prospective students to learn more about Tufts. We call this event series Fall for Tufts, because we hope you will fall for us! Beginning in September, there are a variety of mock classes to choose from; ranging from psychology to economics and engineering, we have a little bit of everything! We also include student panels about study abroad experiences, financial aid and affordability, and introductions to some of our resources on campus, such as our Division of Student Diversity and Inclusion (DSDI) centers. We hope by learning as much as you can about Tufts, you can see why we love Tufts!

Lastly, if you aren’t available during the times the live sessions take place, or you miss a session, you can request a link to any of the recorded sessions through Tufts for You. Your current location is not a hindrance or disadvantage in the college search process and we hope you take advantage of all our virtual engagement options to help you decide why Tufts may be the best fit for you!
