We're nearly two months into the semester, which means midterms, application deadlines, and 200 days until graduation! The ED deadline, for those of you applying, is nearly upon us, and while I didn't apply to Tufts for ED1, I am currently applying for graduate programs. So for any of you struggling with applications and balancing classes with writing personal statements, I'm right in the same boat!
I went to visit graduate programs in the UK this past week, as London is a huge hub for research when it comes to neuroscience. It's difficult applying to programs outside the US, as there are application and funding specifics that people here don't know how to help me with. However, it's my goal to make it back to the UK, so I'm doing everything I can to get my applications sorted.
It's also crazy to think I'm now a senior at Tufts! It really feels like last year I was a freshman, excited to try everything and anything Tufts threw at me. It's amazing how many events Tufts puts together to celebrate our last year here, even though it's also sad this amazing chapter of my life is coming to a close. It's difficult to imagine next year having everyone all across the country and the world again, without Tufts being there to unite us in person. However, I know some of my friends here will be my friends for life, because some connections you make in college are truly special.
A quick side note: I'm absolutely over the moon that it's finally autumn. I'm that crazy person who loves all things cold and snowy, and autumn is the perfect way to jump into crisper weather and cozy sweaters. I baked some pumpkin bread this weekend and my lab is carving pumpkins together this week in celebration of Halloween!
It's been a busy month so far, and I expect it to only get busier. But there are also so many exciting things going on for me now too, and I'm looking forward to how everything turns out. Until next time!
