Last Friday, we offered spaces to the first members of the Class of 2022. And what a great group they are! Representing 36 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and citizens of 29 countries outside of the US, early commits to the Jumbo Class of 2022 are engineers, scientists, and artists. They are good students, and outside of the classroom they spend their time singing, acting, playing sports, painting, debating, volunteering, and myriad other things. The theme that connects them is their desire to think outside of themselves to be a part of a larger community - the Tufts community. By selecting these first members of the class, we’ve built a foundation upon which to build. We’re excited for the newest Jumbos, and we’re looking forward to selecting the rest of what promises to be a dynamic class.
My colleagues and I are about to take a few days away from the hustle and bustle of admissions season to spend time with family and friends. When we return in the new year, we look forward to diving into the stories that prospective students will tell us about their lives - what they’ve done, and what they hope to do as part of this higher ed community. Until we “meet” in that virtual space, I wish you the very best for the holidays (and some time away from essay writing to enjoy yourselves, too!)
