Okay, everybody, take a deep breath. The application deadline is upon us (hooray!) but, well, literally thousands of you embraced the spirit of our procrastinator's guide and waited until the last moments to hit "submit." (So naughty.)
For those of you itching to check your application status to ensure we received it, please be advised that there is a serious technical traffic jam on this end. Our phone lines are buzzing with panic as many of you check our on-line system (TAMS) and discover your application isn't here. It's here, we just haven't uploaded it. Given the volume (we processed almost 3,000 apps today alone) it takes several days for us to upload everything from the Common App server. We just reopened after the long weekend so we're a little backed up.
Sit tight. Don't chew on your fingernails with worry. As I've said before, submitting an app is not like sending a text: receipt is not instantaneous. Check back next week. If your app doesn't pop on our system at that point, then call. (It will be longer than a few days for all the supporting materials--teacher recommendations, scores--to be processed.)
Patience is a virtue. (Hmm, that could have been an answer to supplemental question #3C...)
