Thinking back, I would say that my favorite part of the day was the morning when the sun rose. That was when I was back in Kenya, because I would basically be up before 7 a.m. in the morning, and my breakfast experience was filled with the sun rays. I miss that experience very much here in Medford, not because it is not present, but because there is not much incentive to wake up early in the morning with the sunrise. Also, I thought the experience was very short-lived as well. On the other hand, though, there was the sunset, omg!! It is such a wonderful feeling; it is more than just a sighting. To me, that is what completes my day.
Looking through the seasons changing here in the US, the temperature changes so drastically, and most of the time, you can’t help but be indoors, especially during winter, because it is quite cold. However, one of the landmarks at Tufts is the Tisch Roof. To me, that place gives the perfect view of the sunset. It is so bright and very therapeutic to behold. When I am trying to study at Tisch Library and I need a quick breather before I get back to the grind, I just walk up the stairs to the roof to enjoy the scenic views.
I like how bright orange, or sometimes red or yellow, the sunsets can be, or sometimes all of the colors can make a beautiful merge to paint the sky with a very beautiful sight. I used to think that maybe it was only me who was into sunsets, but mostly, I could see some of the students pointing their cameras to the sky during sunsets. One student joked that the Tufts community has a habit of taking pictures of the sky whenever it's a color other than blue.
Some of the spots to take some of the best sunset photos at Tufts are next to Carmichael Hall facing Blakeley Hall, the Tisch Roof, the Courts, President’s Lawn, and anywhere that you might love to take one from. One good thing is that for them all, you end up having a beautiful view that will heal your soul and light up your phone.
