Building a community at Tufts is one of the easiest and most essential things any student can do. This is because most students are always open to connecting—you can grab a cup of coffee together, have a chat, and instantly become friends. The students here are easygoing, welcoming, and always willing to help. Sometimes, you may be walking on campus and experience a simple yet heartwarming moment—someone smiling at you or saying hello. It’s a beautiful and inviting atmosphere.
One small but meaningful example of this sense of connection comes from the bracelet on my right arm. I’ve received countless compliments on it, and every time someone says, “Oh my goodness, I love your bracelet,” I feel an even deeper bond with my family. These little moments remind me of the warmth and kindness that define this community.
Tufts wraps you in a warm duvet of friendship and joy. I have shared endless laughter with people I barely knew just hours before. We all share a common identity that brings us together, shaping our interactions in a way I wish could last forever. Some of my happiest moments include meeting friends, cooking together, and sharing meals in the dining hall—especially because the post-meal conversations are always so lively and sweet.
Another special part of this community is the spontaneous invitations to parties and events, often from people I’ve never met before. It creates a sense of belonging, knowing we all share the same spirit of openness and connection. When asked what community means to me, I wish I could simply say, “Tufts University.” Instead, I describe it as love, support, and understanding from those around me—this is what truly brings me joy.
The beauty of Tufts is that you can connect with anyone at any time—whether in class, at events, at parties, or during sports. The sense of camaraderie extends to every space imaginable. Before joining Tufts, I watched a video on YouTube that described Tufts students as welcoming and open-minded. That expectation has not only been met but exceeded in every way. This community is more than just a place; it is a feeling, an experience, and a home.
