Application Options

When applying to Tufts, you may submit the Common Application, the Coalition Application powered by Scoir, or the QuestBridge Application. You should only submit one of these three options. Tufts does not have a preference for which application you submit; we will read and consider any of these applications equally. You should work with your school counselor, college counselor, or teachers to decide which application is right for you.

Common Application

The majority of applications to Tufts are received through the Common Application, which allows students to submit to any of more than 600 colleges and universities. The Common Application becomes available on August 1 of each year for the upcoming admission cycle. Included within the Common Application, we require that students respond to two short-answer questions specific to Tufts.

For more information about the Common Application or to apply using the Common Application, click here.

Coalition Application powered by Scoir

Tufts is one of over 150 institutions in the Coalition for College, a coalition of public and private colleges and universities dedicated to providing need-based financial aid and to leveling the playing field in college preparation. The Coalition provides free resources for students to assemble the materials needed for the college search and application process. Included within the Coalition Application, we require that students respond to two short-answer questions specific to Tufts.

To learn more about the Coalition or to apply using the Coalition Application powered by Scoir, click here.

QuestBridge Application

Tufts is proud to partner with QuestBridge, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting high-achieving, low-income students with highly selective colleges and universities. In order to submit a QuestBridge application to Tufts, you must first apply to the QuestBridge National College Match. The National College Match application becomes available in late summer and is typically due in late September. QuestBridge Finalists may apply through the binding National College Match to any of QuestBridge’s partner colleges. QuestBridge Finalists who do not “match” with a binding college, as well as Non-Finalists, may apply to Tufts through Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision using their QuestBridge application and responses to two short-answer questions.
