Plan Your Visit to the SMFA at Tufts
Activities to Consider During Your Visit
If you are interested in visiting both the SMFA at Tufts and our Medford/Somerville campus, we recommend that you register for a morning information session at the Medford/Somerville campus and take the 11:30 shuttle to the Fenway campus. Click here to register for a visit to our Medford Somerville campus. NOTE: This shuttle will begin running at the beginning of the academic year. Throughout the summer guests will need to drive or use public transportation to travel between campuses.
During the summer, campus tours are offered most Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30 PM; please check the schedule using the link to the right for full availability. During the academic year, tours are offered Monday-Friday at 12:30 PM. Tours typically last an hour, so please plan accordingly. Please note that our campus tour includes a brief art school focused information session.
Personal portfolio reviews, as well as a tour of the SMFA campus, are strongly encouraged. Although portfolio reviews are not an admissions requirement, it's a great opportunity to present your work and receive valuable guidance on portfolio preparation as well as meet personally with an admissions counselor. Please plan to bring 10-15 pieces of work with you. We recommend that you bring original works of art, but if this is impossible, you may bring reproductions of your work in the form of photos, a CD, or a USB drive. Portfolio reviews are limited and require advanced registration.
Beginning in April, Portfolio Reviews are available for current high school juniors or potential transfer students who have a serious interest in the Bachelor of Fine Arts or 5-Year Combined Degree BFA+BA/BS programs.
If you are planning a visit for a group of 10 or more students, please contact Angela Jones O'Brien via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are unable to accommodate groups of 10 or more on weekends, holidays, and school vacation weeks.
