Each year a limited number of students may participate in a semester-long exchange with Swarthmore College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All courses taken will count for Tufts credit.
Cross-Registration with Boston-area institutions
Tufts University has consortium agreements with Boston College, Boston University and Brandeis, allowing students to cross-register for one course per semester as long as they receive the appropriate approvals. If a music course is not available in the music department, students may also take a class at the New England Conservatory.
SMFA at Tufts undergraduate students may cross-register through the ProArts Consortium, which is an association of seven neighboring Boston institutions of higher education dedicated to the visual and performing arts. Its members are Berklee College of Music, the Boston Architectural College, the Boston Conservatory, Emerson College, the New England Conservatory, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. ProArts courses are only available to undergraduate SMFA at Tufts students.
