Now, as I reach the end of my sophomore year, I’m reminded of why I chose to apply to Tufts, and how that’s changed for me. Over the past two years, I’ve made films, voted to choose classes for the Experimental College, trained to become a First-Year Assistant, and written blogs and profiles and features. I’ve interviewed the Goo Goo Dolls and given plenty of campus tours. I’ve taken classes that have shaped my road towards graduation and classes that have been nice rest stops along the way. I’ve spent many nights in Tisch Library, trying my best to study. I’ve gone to pot-luck dinners and played board games in the Campus Center.
It’s a scattershot of activities and it certainly shows the variety of options and opportunities Tufts offers. Tufts is a place for students who just can’t be tied down to one thing or one identity. Tufts students contain multitudes and layers, and they like to be at a place that encourages they do it all. It’s this liberal arts mentality that transcends just academics—it’s in every aspect of life on campus. Don’t believe me? Just ask the lacrosse player in my film class who also sings in an acapella group. Tufts students like to be involved and do it all, and Tufts feels like the perfect place to do it. It’s this variety that makes me thankful I chose Tufts and continue to choose Tufts every day.
