A Day in The Life: Junior Year Edition
We are back!!! And this time with more freedom from this horrible pandemic (still being cautious of course), but the fact that I’m allowed to be…
There are four weekends in April. I intend to enjoy every one of them. Here are my plans.
One: Silent Rave
The idea is that everyone comes with their personal music-playing device, and we all dance our pants off to the same music at the same time through our headphones. It’s going to be hilarious. We got a fantastic write-up in the Tufts Daily thanks to the amazing Jenn Straitz. Also I invited the whole school, so we’ll see how this goes.
Update: It was awesome. There were probably 50 people there, I only knew half, we got a great aerobic hour and when you took of your headphones it was a bunch of people breathing heavily. Would recommend.
Two: Easter
I know, most of you are thinking I’m off by a week. I’m Eastern Orthodox, and we time our Paschal services a little differently. So one week later than most of the world, I’m going to celebrate a huge, traditionalish Greek Easter with a bunch of non-Greeks. I like to do the whole leg-of-lamb thing and make a bunch of tasty traditional dishes, and it’s a great time to reconnect and eat together and just enjoy everyone’s company.
Three: TEDxTufts
I’ll be speaking at the TEDxTufts, which is an independently organized TED event that’s going to be held on campus. I’m talking about an idea that I’ve been thinking about for ages; I won’t spill all the details here, but it’s about how we interact with the people we look up to. I’m very excited, both for the opportunity to share my thoughts with so many people, and because my mama is coming up for the weekend. She’s the best.
Also, if you’re interested, it’ll be live-streamed! Tune in at 6pm EST on April 17th.
Four: Spring Fling
Basically it’s this huge school-wide party where everyone comes out onto the Pres Lawn midday to enjoy the beautiful springtime, wear hilarious tanks made by various clubs, and dance around to the awesome artists that Concert Board brings in--like KESHA. It’s going to be glorious and sunny and an all-around fantastic time, if the last few years are any indication.
Got any plans coming up for this month? Tell me about ‘em in the comments.
