Where did all that time come from?
In college, you will have a lot more time on your hands, and most of it is yours to allocate. How do you make the right decisions about it?
Why oh why does Tufts have to have so many awesome clubs with so many awesome people??
Its only been about two weeks since classes began, and already I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by everything that’s going on (if only in the best way possible!). I’m in five classes this semester, which is a feat in its own right—they are all humanities classes, so while it’s not exactly rocket science, hours and hours of reading and responses certainly isn’t a walk in the park!
The problem, however, lies not in my classes—I can handle those with a little motivation and a lot of time in Tisch, no problem. The issue is my extra curricular activities—my fun, awesome, crazy, far too many clubs.
As a freshman, I didn’t realize the sheer amount of stuff there is to do on campus. I auditioned for a bunch of groups, sure, but didn’t make it into any of the clubs I wanted. So I figured that was it—I didn’t make it into those groups, so I wasn’t going to be very involved in college. Life was over!
I could not have been more wrong.
I’m now in my sophomore year of college, and am currently involved with six—count em, six—extra curricular activities. And looking to get in involved in at least 2 more.
Sometimes, the groups you should be with and the people that are meant to be in your life are just hiding in plain sight, and it takes a little failure in the beginning to see that. I’m a firm believer in “when one door closes, another one opens”.
Now, the question is, how the heck am I going to manage my time with all these involvements? I really have no idea—but I’m excited to see how everything works out, because somehow, it always does in the end.
Here’s to an amazing, over-scheduled, unreasonably exciting sophomore year.
