We ask you to let your life speak, BOOM, here is a small slice of life pie! In response to our Dean’s blog… 249 words, take that word count!
Growing up as the oldest of four siblings, there is always someone else to blame. Being the oldest, I got blamed for EVERY problem, except for one- food issues. That was always blamed on the youngest because anything having to do with cookies or sweets was usually her. Christmas time was no different; one of my favorite holiday gifts was the chocolate advent calendar which comes with a piece of chocolate for every day leading up to Christmas. It was so fun to open each day, grab the chocolate, and indulge for a second or two. With three siblings and very small pieces of chocolate, there was an opportunity to have more, however, the key to getting more was waking up first... and I usually did... shhhh don't tell them :).
Until recently, my four siblings and I were in all four corners of this great country: Salem, OR; Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA, and Medford, MA, but we always manage to get home for Christmas. I think this year I will buy them all adult sized chocolate advent calendars just so I can grab a few extra pieces. When questioned, I'll respond "who stole my chocolate?" Then, I'll blame it on the youngest because this is the only time my parents will believe me! While this is mischievous and dishonorable, it's still funny to relive those childlike moments that have created an everlasting bond with my siblings. These mischievous flashes are the bud of many funny jokes too!
Happy Holidays Folks.
