I hail from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and traded by rain gear for winter attire when I relocated to New England a few years ago. I’m a first-generation college student who grew up chopping firewood to warm my family’s home, and I even learned how to properly maintain salmon habitats and dissect Humboldt Squid as part of my Oregon Coast education. I loved growing up in a small town; the supportive community and my teachers, many of whom I keep in touch with, helped supplement my family’s unfamiliarity with applying to college. A place like Tufts values the constellation of unique stories and experiences we see in our applications, and as an Admissions Officer, I relish meeting so many talented and promising students.
