Available Minor
The Studio Art minor allows students to take advantage of the rich resources of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts—a community of artists and art world professionals within the larger Tufts community. Students can try out a new medium, or look for deeper connections between artmaking and their other disciplines of choice. Classes cover the range from beginner instruction for newcomers to advanced courses for students who have extensive experience in studio art.
Studio courses are offered across the following areas of study: animation, book arts, ceramics, digital media, drawing, fibers, film, graphic arts, illustration. installation, jewelry, metals, painting, papermaking, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, sound, video, and virtual reality.
Studio courses are available on both the Medford/Somerville campus and the SMFA Fenway campus located at 230 The Fenway Boston, MA 02115.
Students may also choose to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in interdisciplinary studio art, or our 5-year Combined Degree program in which they earn both a BA or BS degree and a BFA degree simultaneously.
