Registration for Jumbo Days is now open in your Tufts portal!
Our admitted student open houses are aptly titled "Jumbo Days," not only for our beloved mascot but for the number of activities we fit in. There's a reason for this: we believe that Jumbo Days are the best way for admitted students to get to know campus on a deeper level. You'll meet current students, check out available clubs, and have the chance to learn from professors in mock classes. If you can come to one of the open houses on April 12th, 18th, or 19th, we strongly recommend that you do.
BFA/Combined Degree students are encouraged to attend the April 19th open house, where they will be able to meet their admitted peers and attend programming on both campuses. See the SMFA schedule here.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
7:00 am - 8:00 am
Registration & Breakfast: Register for the day and join current students and the admissions staff for breakfast.
8:00 am - 9:00 am
Welcome Address: Karen Richardson, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, and current students welcome you to Tufts.
9:30 am - 11:30 am
The Academic Experience: Students will choose from classes taught by Tufts faculty in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, sciences, and engineering. Parents and guardians will hear from university administrators for A Conversation with Student Affairs and then join the academic experience.
11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Open Houses and Lunch: Visit a dorm, explore the engineering facilities, learn about financial aid, and eat lunch with current students in the dining halls. Attend dozens of open houses, from the academic departments to student groups to the new athletic facilities.
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Community Conversations: Admitted students will hear from a panel of current students. Parents will hear from Career Services.
2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Community Fair and Farewell Reception: Join the Tufts Community Fair under the Big Top, where many Tufts student groups and other organizations will be represented. Then, stop by the Bendetson Hall patio to say goodbye to the admissions staff and take a snack for the road.
The night before each of the Jumbo Days, expect student performances, on-campus movies, dinner in the dining halls, discussion groups, and more. All admitted students registered for Jumbo Days are welcome to attend the evening programming. Unfortunately, overnight spaces are limited, offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and are only available to students who applied Regular Decision.
