Grades are *slowly* rolling into the Tufts Student Information System, dorms are being locked up until mid-January, and Tufts students are (I would imagine) almost entirely off of campus by now. After four months of being non-stop busy, I am struggling to keep myself entertained at home. I mean, I can only watch so many episodes of HGTV's House Hunters!
In the week or so since I have been home, I have engaged in a variety of activities in an attempt to keep myself busy. Here are my recommendations for what to do if you're feeling antsy over your winter break:
1. Read a good book.
The books that we students read for class can be great, but there is nothing like curling up on the couch with an engaging, interesting book for pure enjoyment. My personal recommendation at the moment is The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson.
2. Cuddle your pets.
I have two dogs - they are the absolute cutest and they are also who I miss the most when I am at school. Give your pets lots of hugs & kisses while you are home! Take them to a dog park or throw a ball around with them. It is relaxing and fun!
3. Sleep really late!
As someone who never had classes earlier than noon this past semester, I guess this really should not apply to me. However, it still does. Enjoy being able to sleep late and getting cozy in your bed at home - I sure am!
4. Spend time with your family
One of my favorite parts about being home is being able to hug my parents! Whether it is playing a board game together or watching a movie, family time during college breaks is essential!
AND, IF YOU ARE REALLY BORED AND NONE OF THE ABOVE HAVE ENTERTAINED YOU THE SLIGHTEST BIT...
5. Start searching for summer internships!
There is no time like the present. Trust me.
