Simple Tufts Hacks For Your Day To Daily Life!
Howdy campers! Ever want to make things easier, or know secrets about things around Tufts like you were Nicholas Cage in National Treasure (a great movie, by the way)? Well, I can’t really promise you any of those things, but hey, how about some nifty little secret things about Tufts you may or may not know that are fun, helpful and that I wish I had known before showing up on campus:
This time, lets focus on the library: big, scary, possibly haunted, probably boring, right? NOPE. The Tisch library is not only a great place to study, but is home to some pretty nifty things
The Tower Café: Not only a surprisingly good place to study/grab a delicious sandwich/watch the world outside, but it is also a great place to grab coffee with a professor. The reason for this is, students and professors who are working together at the Tower Café get drinks on the house! Good talk. Good Coffee. What more could you ask for?
The Media Desk: this is located up some stairs off of the main lobby of the library, and it is one of my favorite places on campus, because you can rent movies. Sure, they have Citizen Kane, Sunset Boulevard, Casablanca and other classics (if you answered “huh?” to any of the previously mentioned movie titles (including national treasure, you have some homework to do. GET ON IT), but it’s also got stuff like Back to the Future, Revenge of the Nerds, StarWars, the Bad Boyz movies, and SO MANY OTHERS. If you’re looking for your favorite movie free of charge and don’t feel like scouring the Internet for a questionable version of it, this is the place to go!
Study Rooms: Or should I say, Fancy Study Rooms. The answer is yes. Yes I should. Not only are these rooms comfortable, very isolated (for your personal studying continence) and surprisingly soundproof, they also encourage writing on the walls. But actually: some of the study rooms in the library have walls coated in dry-erase paint, meaning the walls function as one giant dry-erase board! There is nothing quite as satisfying as scrawling your notes like a madman across the walls as you study (that does sound pretty crazy, but trust me, it is extremely fun).
Those are just a few quick and nifty (“nifty?”) facts about the library, I wholeheartedly suggest that you liberally employ all of them in your day to daily life, they make things surprisingly more fun.
