Find an awesome-looking recipe. Realize you only have one of the ingredients. Make it anyways.
Meet with your unofficial advisor. He’s so busy with his official advisees that this might be your only chance.
Go outside! Seriously, when was the last time it was 50 degrees and you didn’t have classes? Take the bus to Lechmere, walk to Bunker Hill, and then wander your way to the Commons.
Do your tax returns. Ugh, totally boring… but since there aren’t any students here to TA, this is your only way to make any money this week.
Buy plane tickets for your next vacation (and blow that entire return). It’s cool, you can be young and financially irresponsible at least until you graduate.
Get a library card. Obviously you already have access to the school library, but the Somerville Public Library has a much larger selection of travel books, so you can get giddy about aforementioned trip.
Do some watercoloring. You can’t keep telling people that you’re halfway to a studio art minor if you never actually do art. Also good practice for when you’re watercoloring on vacation, eh?
Dentist appointment, eye appointment, orthodontist appointment, renew your driver’s license. This whole “free time” idea is exciting, isn’t it?
Give directions to visiting prefrosh. There’s no one on campus to give tours, unfortunately, but people seem to be entertaining themselves fairly well on the self-guided tour. It’s always fun to stop and chat with the parent-child pairs huddled around a map.
Go to the ballet! Advance student rush tickets are 30 bucks, which is a bargain when you realize you’re sitting next to people who paid three times as much. Also, little girls in Cinderella dresses are precious.
Internet. Read dumb articles, take quizzes, accidentally go through 10 years of a webcomic in one weekend. Might as well, you’re on vacation.
Apologies that I’m unable to form thoughts cohesive enough to write a full paragraph--you’re stuck with another list. Do you have a better spring break activity? How about a topic you want me to write about? Let me know in the comments!
