Behind The Masks: The Social Scene At Tufts
Something I’ve been wondering lately is if it would be worth it to begin college during a pandemic. I can imagine that a lot of high school seniors…
As of 11am last Monday (aka Monday, February 17th) the cast and crew of Jules and Monty (the web series I talked about all those months ago in this post) WRAPPED principle photography!!! WAHOOOOO!
To be fair, we still have about a month of post-production to jump into, but generally speaking we will now have our weekends back to remember how to be students again (ha ha) and will spend our Wednesdays at the TUTV station watching rough cuts until everything is finished… insanity.
It was a long weekend—lovingly referred to as a “party weekend”—during which we filmed FOUR DAYS in a row, covering three different episodes. On Friday we even had an awesome opportunity to work with Dean Coffin, our very own dean of Admissions, who came to our set (aka my dorm room) to have a cameo as Juliet's father, George Caine (a name he penned himself)--check out Dean Coffin's blog! We bounced everywhere from episode 8 to episode 13 to episode 18 and despite the incredible volume of work we had to accomplish, our marvelous cast and crew pushed right through to the end, celebrating our wrap with a trip to Charlie’s, a burger place in Cambridge, for double Guinness cheese burgers and vanilla shakes: oh yeah, we know how to celebrate.
Now it’s a matter of tying up loose ends: Ben, our editor, has locked himself away in the editing room to ensure that what you see on YouTube in March is a good representation of our series; I’ve been working on social media outlets and talking to musicians; Ed is combing through countless hours of Vlog Vlog material, the backstage vlog; and Emma and Claire, our assistant directors, are planning our all important Wrap Party.
On MARCH 1st our trailer, Facebook, and twitter will be launched into the stratosphere, so look out for that, and then on March 10th Jules and Monty will be an actual real life web series and will premiere on YouTube with our first two episodes… yikes, it’s all coming together now.

If any of you have been on my Tufts tour, you may remember me huffing and puffing as I walked up the steps next to the president’s lawn, enthusiastically…
