I Think I'm Coming Down With a Bad Case of Senioritis
Like so many of my fellow seniors (both college seniors and high school seniors), I have entered into the final countdown. And you know what that means! I have caught a huge case of senioritis.
For those who have never heard of this horrible disease before, it strikes about a month before graduation. You have tests, finals and papers but you find that your procrastination has hit new highs. You'll do anything to get out of doing research, thinking to yourself "I've written 16 pages in 24 hours before, doing it one more time won't hurt" You try and force yourself to do work but then a fellow senior calls and wants to hang. You know you shouldn't but they just got offered a job and you must celebrate.
It the last week of classes, you really shouldn't skip, but you're just going to review for the final so why bother, right? (FYI, you should go to the last week of class. There's never any homework anyways)
Now it's finals week. You know you have 3 papers due in a 1 1/2 week span but you've...
The Streets are My Catwalk
This blog post could also be entitled, "Why You Should Always Look Your Best".
Ever since I was a little girl, my grandmother always stressed the importance of looking your best when you leave the house. My shirts could not be wrinkly, I needed to be matching and my hair should not look as crazy as it normally does. Now the reason my grandmother gave for this behavior had nothing to do with fashion, but with making yourself look presentable when going out into the world. "You never know who you're going to meet" she would always (and still does) say.
Unfortunately, I've never met anyone famous or super cool while roaming the streets of Boston, but that notion has always stuck with me. Besides my mis-matched socks (I needed some small form of rebellion), my outfits are generally carefully planned. Shoes, jeans, shirt and accessories must match, or at least work well together.
Being well-dressed can often improve your mood. For ladies, just putting on a pair of heels makes us feel a bit...
Why Coming To Tufts Was One Of The Best Decisions I've Ever Made
You must be reading the title and thinking "that sounds a bit extreme", but for me it's entirely true. Yesterday the class of 2016 became complete. It made me think of when I found out I had gotten into Tufts. As a transfer, decisions for us are not released until late May. I had actually forgotten that I had applied to Tufts. Then one afternoon while I was picking up my sister from school, I checked my email and saw they acceptance letter. I couldn't even believe it. I immediately called my best friend and made her read the email to make sure I had read it properly.
I had applied to Tufts for freshman admission and was denied, therefore being accepted this time around made me ecstatic. I never got the chance to visit Tufts before I was accepted. I jumped in head first....and I'm so glad I did.
At Tufts I've gotten the opportunity to meet some truly awesome people, take amazing classes and be involved with some great groups. I had always been interested in the Middle East, but had never...
Transfer Guide to the Tufts App (2011)
So here it is...the first ever guide to the transfer application and process. Being a transfer myself, I know what it's like to go through the process.
Quick intro: I'm a senior intern in admissions, as well as a transfer student. I firmly believe that transfers rock hard and want to help all of the transfers of the world (kind of like Captain Planet, but with less emphasis on the planet and more on transfers) ...
Therefore we have complied some resources to help you as the transfer deadline fast approaches. For many transfers, there aren't so many questions about the actual application, but about what comes after. We've tried to cover many bases, but if there is something you want/need that is not included, leave a note in the comments and I will try to get it up before the deadline.
Our Transfer videos - in the first video below, our admissions officers talk about the transfer admissions process and how students get in. In the second, you'll meet out transfers, hears their stories...
