With an incoming class of 200 engineers every year, Tufts University provides a personalized process to assist and guide you. Career Services provides easy access to internship and career opportunities through career fairs, resume workshops, and weekly office hours in our engineering facilities. Multiple career fairs attract more than 200 companies, resulting in over 800 conducted interviews for internships and jobs. About 80% of Tufts engineers complete an internship by their junior year and 62% do two or more. Typically, employers have converted over half of our students’ internships into full-time positions. Our alumni also play a pivotal role in the advancement of the Tufts community, inspiring and supporting Jumbos in their career paths.
Collaborative and hands-on, our engineers develop vital skills to innovate, lead, and implement. Exercising the technical and interdisciplinary skills they have mastered as undergraduates, a majority of Tufts engineers join the professional arena upon graduation. Many others utilize these same skill sets by preparing for related fields, such as medicine, business, and law. Tufts chemical engineers become practicing attorneys that specialize in environmental law while mechanical engineers draw on their experiences on the Tufts Hybrid Racing Team to design the first practical flying car. Tufts engineers are professionals and leaders in careers that are as multifaceted as engineering itself.
