Typically, 40-45 percent of Tufts undergraduates participate in full-year or semester-long foreign study programs around the world. While roughly one-third of that number participates in
Tufts Programs Abroad , the other two-thirds participate in hundreds of
programs sponsored by other fully accredited colleges and universities. In the past, Tufts students have studied in the following countries:

In addition to the traditional full-year and semester-long programs, Tufts offers opportunities for students to study abroad either for the summer in Talloires, France, through the European Center (which can be done at any point during their undergraduate career), or for a full-year/an academic semester (generally during junior year) through one of ten Tufts Programs Abroad , located in Santiago, Chile; Hangzhou, China; Accra, Ghana; Hong Kong; Kanazawa, Japan; London; Madrid; Oxford; Paris; and Tubingen, Germany. Additionally, the School of Engineering has exchange programs with INSA de Lyon in France and with the University of Sussex in England.
Mystic Seaport Program
Under the sponsorship of Williams College and the Frank C. Munson Institute of Maritime Studies, the program offers a semester at Mystic Seaport for students interested in studying the ocean from an interdisciplinary perspective. In addition to formal course work and the development of one or more skills in the areas of celestial navigation, marine design, boat building and small-boat handling, the program offers a two-week sailing course during the semester.
Tufts in Washington
A semester-long program is available to qualified juniors and seniors with some political science background. The academic schedule includes a seminar, an individual research project and an internship. Areas of study include American politics, international development and foreign affairs.
Exchange Programs with Spelman College, Swarthmore College, and Lincoln University
Each year a limited number of students may participate in a semester-long exchange with Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia; Swarthmore College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; or Lincoln University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All courses taken will count for Tufts credit.
